Different together

We’re not all the same. And that is our greatest strength.

Effective interactions need open minds, which is why it is essential for us to have an inclusive culture – based on respect, empathy, trust, and passion – that promotes diversity and equality.

At Teleperformance Greece, we want the best people for the position, and we encourage everybody to develop their talents while at the same time respecting those individual characteristics and distinctive backgrounds that are an asset to the company.

Let’s meet Kate Xyrafi, the HR ERD Assistant… next door.

“In the last 7 years, becoming part of the Teleperformance Greece community changed my life. Finally, a place I can call home and build strong roots, a family that embraces and values differences. Coming out has made me a better leader throughout my career as a Supervisor, ACM, and now HR ERD assistant”, says Kate about Teleperformance Greece.

“Being politically correct is about looking good. Being inclusive is about being good.”

Starting my journey in TP Greece almost seven years ago feeling scared and small to make any difference, I had to endure a society built on dilapidated standards.

I remember my own mother pushing me to wear makeup and dress “more professionally” to boost the possibilities of getting this job while the unemployment was skyrocketing.

She had the best intentions as every parent on this earth, and I tried, oh yes, I decided to follow her advice, but just minutes before leaving the house, I stood in front of the mirror, and I said “NO” this is not who I am, this is not how I will get this job, this recurring charade stops NOW.

It was a black shirt and jeans accompanied by my own personality and strengths that brought me the career that I have today, but this professional development wouldn’t be possible if TP itself wasn’t promoting cultural, linguistic, and sexual diversity.

These days we all seem to notice each other’s differences more and more. Perhaps it’s the increase of social media that brings us into each other’s life or the changes in how we behave towards each other. It doesn’t really matter why or how, at the end of the day, we’re all different; that’s what makes us unique.

To be nobody but yourself in a world doing its best to make you like everybody else means to fight the hardest battle any human can ever fight and never stop fighting.

Do not use your diversity to avoid hard work or to hide in a closet, keep striving for excellence, keep thinking out of the box, embrace your weirdness and transmigrate it to your colleagues, have fun and light the room with your smile.

Because no matter how hard things can be, how cruel the world can treat you, you now have a family that accepts you exactly as you are and will help you be the best version of yourself.

Join TP Greece’s diverse family and stop pretending, you are amazing just the way you are!
