Together We are Stronger | Podcast with CHRO, Triantafyllos Alexopoulos
“Shared pain is halved, and shared joy is doubled.”
This powerful Greek proverb sets the tone for Eliana Chrysikopoulou’s latest podcast episode of “Where Do I Begin,” where she hosts three inspiring guests: Vasso Yochai, Secretary of the Board at the “Alma Zois” Association, Triantafyllos Alexopoulos, CHRO of Teleperformance Greece, and Dr. Sofia Balamoti, Breast Surgeon-Gynecologist. Together, they share their experiences and insights, emphasizing a crucial message: no one should face the fight against breast cancer alone.
During the conversation, Eliana highlighted a critical but often overlooked point: prevention. Despite widespread media attention, itās essential to keep stressing that 95% of women diagnosed with breast cancer at an early stage can be successfully treated. Prevention saves lives, and as the guests discussed, women need to feel supportedāwhether by their loved ones, workplace, or the wider community.
Vasso Yochai, drawing from her role with Alma Zois, provided valuable insights on the organizationās efforts to support breast cancer patients and raise awareness. Triantafyllos Alexopoulos expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the podcast, stressing how crucial it is to openly discuss breast cancer to foster understanding within the broader community. Dr. Balamoti, who had also taken part in Teleperformanceās TP Women event, contributed her expert knowledge on prevention and treatment, reinforcing how essential early detection is in the battle against breast cancer.
Eliana commented on the collaborative effort required to tackle breast cancer, aptly noting that āit takes a villageā. Mr. Alexopoulos shared his personal reflections, recalling how breast cancer has affected women in his close circle. He acknowledged that despite numerous initiatives, there remains a lack of awareness, particularly among men, about the importance of discussing breast cancer openly. He believes itās crucial to break the taboo and create a culture of openness around the disease.

So, how did Teleperformance Greece decide to take action in this cause?
Mr. Alexopoulos pointed out that with 55% of the companyās workforce being women, supporting breast cancer awareness and prevention was a natural and vital step. For the past seven years, Teleperformance Greece has provided its employees with free annual ultrasounds, extending 1,000 free screenings to the general public. This initiative has had a tangible impact: in one year, three female employees were diagnosed with breast cancer thanks to these free scans, enabling early treatment and prevention of the disease’s progression.
When asked about Teleperformance Greeceās ongoing commitment to breast cancer awareness, Mr. Alexopoulos explained, “Our approach is holisticāitās not just about one initiative or one day of raising awareness”. The company is also a proud volunteer sponsor of the Race For The Cure initiative and recently hosted its first live panel discussion featuring breast cancer survivors, Alma Zois representatives, and medical professionals. The event provided a platform for meaningful dialogue on prevention, treatment, and ongoing support.
Looking ahead, Teleperformance Greece remains committed to promoting the health, safety, and well-being of its employees. As part of this mission, the company plans to expand its efforts to support breast cancer awareness and prevention within the wider community. “Breast cancer prevention is here to stay,” Mr. Alexopoulos emphasized, “and we aim to grow our initiatives because this is a cause that affects us all. Together, we can make a difference“.
