Play, Cook, Include: Experiencing Sports, Giving Back, Embracing Inclusion

Embracing Inclusion Through Sport & Community at TP Greece

At TP in Greece, we believe in the power of inclusion, teamwork, and shared experiences. On April 12 and 13, we had the incredible opportunity to bring these values to life through a meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event. This weekend was filled with adaptive sports and a hands-on cooking session, our employees, special guests, and participants came together to celebrate diversity and promote accessibility in a truly engaging way.

Adaptive Sports: Breaking Barriers, Building Connections

Our event featured 3 adaptive sports, allowing participants to step into the world of Paralympic-level challenges, fostering teamwork, and raising awareness about disabilities. Adaptive sports are not just about physical activity; they break down barriers, promote teamwork, and offer a shared space where everyone can participate, contribute, and thrive. Through these experiences, we come to understand that ability comes in many forms—and that inclusion means designing environments and opportunities that welcome everyone.

The TP Team in Moscato playing Goalball

Relay Race with Wheelchairs – A high-energy relay where TP employees competed using specialized sports wheelchairs. It was a thrilling experience that tested coordination, speed, and strategy while deepening understanding of mobility challenges.

Boccia – A strategic Paralympic sport like pétanque, designed for athletes with motor function disabilities. Participants experienced firsthand the precision and tactical thinking required, guided by a professional boccia athlete and coach.

Goalball – A sport designed for individuals with visual impairments, goalball challenges players to use their sense of sound and touch to track a ball embedded with bells. With a dedicated goalball court and expert coaching, participants gained an appreciation for the incredible skills and teamwork needed to excel in this game.

Each activity served as a powerful reminder that accessibility isn’t about limitation—it’s about adaptation, creativity, and ensuring everyone has the chance to participate fully.

Cooking Session: Inclusion Through Culinary Creativity

Beyond sports, inclusivity extends into every aspect of life—including the kitchen! In collaboration with the Love Van, TP employees took part in a hands-on cooking workshop, preparing meals for people in need. This meaningful experience fostered teamwork, empathy, and a spirit of giving, reinforcing our commitment to social impact and inclusion. This workshop was a fantastic opportunity to bond over food, share stories, and create lasting memories.

Inspiring Guests  & A Powerful Message

We were grateful to welcome experienced voices from the adaptive sports community, such as the Paralympic Champion Makis Kalaras, who brought invaluable insight and inspiration to the event. Their stories and guidance helped shed light on the impact of accessible sports, the importance of equal opportunities, and the powerful role that inclusive environments play in fostering connection, empowerment, and understanding. Their presence reinforced why it’s essential to continue breaking down barriers and making space for everyone to participate fully.

Why It Matters

At TP in Greece, we believe in the power of shared experiences to build understanding and inclusivity. This event was about stepping into new perspectives, working together, and embracing the challenges that others navigate daily. Through adaptive sports and meaningful teamwork, our employees gained a firsthand appreciation for resilience, skill, and the importance of accessibility in every aspect of life.

Let’s continue working towards a more inclusive future, one step at a time!
