Tree Planting for a Sustainable Future in Angelochori
At Teleperformance in Greece, sustainability is at the core of what we do. As part of our Global Citizen of the World initiative, we are committed to making a positive and lasting impact on society and the environment. This commitment was recently put into action on Saturday, October 19, when our employees from Thessaloniki joined forces with the Panhellenic Volunteer Movement Save Your Hood for a meaningful tree-planting initiative in Angelochori.
A Special Initiative for Our Thessaloniki Team
This event was especially meaningful for our Teleperformance employees based in Thessaloniki. It was an opportunity for our local team to come together outside the workplace, connect with nature, and contribute to the preservation of one of the region’s most beautiful natural areas. This initiative exemplified our team’s dedication not only to professional excellence but also to social and environmental responsibility.
Angelochori, a unique coastal area included in the Natura 2,000 network, faces serious erosion challenges, with over 2 meters of coastline already lost in recent years. Our goal was clear: to combat this erosion and protect the area’s ecosystem for future generations.
Our volunteers worked diligently, planting 40 tamarisk trees—a resilient species known for its ability to stabilize soil and protect against coastal erosion. By doing so, we aimed to make a direct impact on the long-term sustainability of the coastline. This tree-planting action was a proud moment for our Thessaloniki-based team.
Learning and Giving Back
Following the tree-planting activity, our volunteers also participated in a small cleanup of the surrounding area, reinforcing Teleperformance Greece’s commitment to leaving a positive footprint wherever we operate.
